# Manage contacts

Contacts are the shared customer record behind conversations, activities, and campaigns. Good contact data keeps personalization useful and reporting trustworthy.

## A reliable contact workflow

1. Create or import a contact with the best available identifier.
2. Add only attributes your team and agents will actually use.
3. Review duplicate records before starting a campaign.
4. Add activities as meaningful customer interactions occur.
5. Correct outdated details instead of creating a second record.
