# Receive events with webhooks

# Receive events with webhooks

Webhooks notify your application when supported Sayvy resources change. They are useful for syncing customer records, updating internal systems, and triggering follow-up work.

## Set up a webhook safely

1. Create an HTTPS endpoint that returns a fast success response.
2. Register the endpoint and subscribe only to the events you need.
3. Validate the signature before processing the payload.
4. Make processing idempotent because events can be retried or delivered more than once.
5. Log failures and replay safely after fixing the cause.

<Warning>Treat webhook payloads as untrusted input. Verify authenticity, validate the schema, and never let an event directly execute an unreviewed destructive action.</Warning>

See the [Webhooks API](/api-reference/webhooks/overview) for event and endpoint details.
