Build reliable workflows

Workflows make a repeatable process visible and testable. Start with the customer outcome, then connect the smallest number of triggers, decisions, and actions needed to reach it.

Design a workflow

  1. Define the trigger and the expected final state.
  2. Identify the data the workflow must read and the actions it may take.
  3. Add explicit branches for missing data, failure, and human handoff.
  4. Test with normal, duplicate, delayed, and invalid inputs.
  5. Monitor the result and document who owns failed runs.
A workflow is production-ready when a teammate can understand what it does, why it stopped, and what to do next without reading implementation code.
